MAIN MEAL Our residents have the option of dining in our public dining room at 11:30 am to 2:00 pm or 4:00 - 7:00 pm for their main meal. This meal may be selected from our extensive German and Canadian menu. A second meal consisting of a lighter fair is available at an additional cost. Please review a sample of our varied menu. Fresh fruits and vegetables from the Annapolis Valley are incorporated in our menus as well as fresh Nova Scotia Seafood. Our staff will also accommodate those who have special dietary needs. Enjoy eating with friends and visiting family in our spacious facility. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES: Our recreation personnel offer many activities on a regular basis. Workshops, hobbies & crafts, gardening, card games & clubs take place in our Multi-Purpose Room. Outside recreational activities such as golfing, swimming, skiing & skating are just a few of the various activities that happen at the Kingsway Gardens. We also welcome your suggestions for your varied interests. GARDEN: Enjoy our beautiful and well maintained landscaped gardens including a gazebo and walking trails. Watch the changing seasons and the different colours and enjoy sitting on our outdoor benches to have conversations with a friend. In the summer time we enjoy a barbeque on the patio when the weather permits. The gardens provide a great opportunity to go for walks. SECURITY: Kingsway Gardens offers 24-hour security with staff as well as an emergency call system in each unit. The facility has a state-of-the art fire alarm system as well as a hot water - oil heating system. The building has water sprinklers and smoke detectors. There is also an emergency lighting system. The premises has an air exchange system in all of the units and air conditioning in the Dining room and Multi-Purpose Room for the comfort of the residents. Kingsway Gardens has its own back-up generator system in place if the need arises due to any extended power shortages. SHUTTLE SERVICE: Our facility offers a fully air conditioned van for shuttle service to areas of Windsor. Just shop for groceries and we will be there to transport you home. Downtown banking is done on a daily basis. We also offer a shopping excursions to the shopping malls, movie nights, concert evenings & drives around the coutry side to name just a few of our activities. PARKING: Kingsway Gardens offers ample parking for residents and visitors. ELEVATOR: The convenience of an elevator makes the second floor easily accessible. DAY LOUNGES: Kingsway Gardens provides day lounges on each level as well as other seating areas throughout the facility. Card games, reading, listening to music, watching television or just enjoy one anothers company. SWIMMING POOL & WHIRLPOOL: Enjoy the swimming pool as an exercise activity or just to relax. The facility also has a whirlpool. Whatever your preference, Kingsway Gardens has a lovely enclosed swimming pool environment right on the premises. It can ease your mind and body. Visiting family members can also enjoy the use of the swimming pool & the whirlpool. LAUNDRY: Each level has its own laundry room equipped with a washer and a dryer, a tub for hand washing as well as a table for folding clothes for the personal use of the residents. HOUSEKEEPING: Housekeeping is offered for your comfort twice a week with once a week bed linen change. Housekeeping will include vacuuming, surface dusting, garbage removal, cleaning of the kitchen floor and bathroom floor and a thorough cleaning of the vanity, sink, mirror, toilet and bathtub. WHEELCHAIR ACCOMMODATION: Kingsway Gardens offers two units for wheelchair bound residents. The units have extra wide entrance to the bathroom and a kitchen designed for easy accessibility. With access to the elevator the residents can enjoy full use of the entire facility. HAIR SALON: A hair salon is available to our residents, on an appointment basis.
